Hi, I am Mrs. Nicole Hersh. I've been at Manzanita since the beginning, and absolutely love it here. I have had the time of my life doing what I wanted to do since I was in third grade...teach. I have taught everything from 3rd grade through 8th grade in my 6 years teaching, but elementary school is where my heart is. Math has always been my favorite subject, so I'm really looking forward to putting my math credential to good use.
I grew up in Santa Monica, graduated from UCLA and Cal. State Northridge, then moved up to Santa Barbara county. I love to read, knit, dance, and wear silly socks.
For the past three years, I've been teaching third grade with Mrs. Hunter, but I had a huge life change last year. My son, Hudson (known as "Bumpy" when I was pregnant) was born in May. Although I'm not coming back to teach full time this year, I am really thankful that Mrs. Palmer wanted to keep me on as a math intervention teacher. It's great to be able to stay part of the Manzanita family that I've grown to love.
I am really excited about this year and all the challenges it will bring.
