My name is Norma Hornsby. My husband, Scott, and I recently moved to Arroyo Grande from Porterville in the Central Valley. We met while attending Cal Poly and always dreamed of returning to the central coast. We are thrilled to be back. We love the coast and its wonderful weather. We have two grown children. Our daughter, Sarah, and her husband, Aaron, live in Grover Beach. Sarah is a fifth grade teacher and Aaron works as a realtor. Our son, Loren, and his wife, Kristyn, live in Porterville where he works as a correctional officer. They have two sons who are 2 and 4 years old. My hobbies include reading, sewing, crafts, and gardening.
I also enjoy traveling and spending time with my family and friends.
I have 22 years of teaching experience including 10 years in fourth grade, 4 years in fifth grade, 8 years in second grade, and one year in third grade. I have experience working with GATE students, English language learners, and resource and special needs students. I have also worked with various intervention programs. I am excited to be teaching second grade at Manzanita Public Charter School. The staff is incredible, and I can’t wait to get started. I’m sure we will have a wonderful year!
