My name is Natalie Stecken and I am very excited to be teaching kindergarten this year. Ever since I began my studies to become a teacher I have dreamed of working at a school like Manzanita.
Recently, my husband and I moved back to my hometown of Solvang. I returned to Solvang from the Los Angeles area where I worked in the school system for seven years. During that time I served as a teacher’s aide, computer specialist and substitute teacher. I acquired a great deal of experience with both kindergarten and first grade in the Inglewood Unified School District. This year will be my 4th year of teaching elementary school. I attended California State University Northridge where I earned my bachelors in liberal arts and my teaching credential.
I love teaching kindergarten – it has always been my preferred grade level. I take the education of my classroom very seriously and I want to see every one of my students improve over the year. I think children learn best when high expectations are set for them in a warm and inviting environment. |
