Parents,
February’s Principal’s Book of the Month, Enemy
Pie, written by Derek Munson is an adroit tale
with a valuable and enduring message of
relationships and conflict.
In Enemy Pie a father
has a secret recipe for a pie that is guaranteed
to help get rid of enemies. This astute father
works on mixing the ingredients and baking the
pie, all the while explaining his son's role in
the plan. You should consider spending a day
with this enemy he explains, even worse, you
ought to be nice to your enemy for the entire
day. It sounds impossible; however his trusting
son decides to give it a go. Unsurprisingly
after a day of riding bikes and bouncing on a
trampoline his son decides that his enemy is not
so bad. |

El Libro de la Directora del Mes de Febrero, Pie
Enemigo, escrito por Derek Munson es un cuento
con un mensaje de valor perdurable de
convivencia y conflicto.
En Pie Enemigo, un padre tiene la receta secreta
de un pie que garantiza que ayuda a deshacerse
de los enemigos. Este astuto padre trabaja
mezclando los ingredientes y horneando el pie,
todo mientras explica a su hijo el plan. Debes
considerar pasar un día con estos enemigos le
explica, peor aún, debes ser amable con tus
enemigos todo el día. Esto suena imposible; de

There is the problem of the pie, however! When
his father serves up the dessert, the young
protagonist decides to warn his new friend that
it is poisonous. However, his father and his new
friend are just fine, and the pie is
scrumptious.
As a bucket filling school, Enemy Pie indeed
helps our scholars consider the options of
getting rid of enemies by getting to know them
and with a bit of luck making them your friend.
Each day as scholars arrive at Manzanita I am
remained of how very lucky we are. We have the
privilege of spending an entire day together and
our buckets are filled each and every day by
your incredible children. |

¡Pero hay un problema con el pie! Cuando su
padre sirve el postre, el pequeño protagonista
decide prevenir a su nuevo amigo diciéndole que
tiene veneno. Pero su padre y su nuevo amigo
están bien y el pie es delicioso.
Como escuela llenadora de cubetas, Pie Enemigo
ayuda a nuestros alumnos a considerar la opción
de deshacerse de los enemigos dándose la
oportunidad de conocerlos y con un poquito de
suerte haciéndose amigos.
Cada día los alumnos llegan a Manzanita y veo
que somos afortunados. Tenemos el privilegio de
pasar todo un día juntos y nuestras cubetas son
llenadas todos los días por sus increíbles hijos. |
