Kindergarten

I was born in Mexico City; however I was raised in a small town near Zacapu, Michoacán. At the age of 10 my family immigrated to the United States. I have lived in Santa Maria for the last 20 years and I love living in this area.

I have been married for twelve years to my wonderful husband, Oscar. It is thanks to his support and my eagerness that I was able to make my dream of a college education a reality.

I attended Allan Hancock College for about 5 years while working full time to complete my general education. I then transferred to Cal-Poly, San Luis Obispo, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies in March 2008. I continued to attend Cal-Poly as a graduate student in their rigorous teaching credential program. I completed the program in March 2009 and became certified as a bilingual teacher.

I look forward to the beginning of a wonderful school year full of learning and fun! I also look forward to working closely with parents to make kindergarten a great experience for their children. College begins in Kindergarten!
