Delgado

5th Grade

Hello, my name is Karina Delgado (formally Miss Gonzalez) and I am a fifth grade teacher this 2022-2023 school year. This is my fourth year at Manzanita and I’ve loved every second of it! I look forward to watching my scholars learn, grow, and thrive in my classroom.

I was born and raised in Lompoc, CA. After graduating from Cabrillo High School, I headed off to CSU Channel Islands where I received my B.A. in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Bilingual Authorization. I obtained my teaching credential and Master’s degree at California Lutheran University.

I want to make this year an amazing experience for all of my scholars! I believe that every child brings an abundance of knowledge and should share their unique gifts with the world. As scholars walk through my classroom doors, I want them to feel empowered, confident, and cared for. My goal this year is for my scholars to become mindful of their choices, of their goals, and who they are.

I’m very excited to work with my students and provide them with support to prepare them for sixth grade. I believe a student’s support team is made up of the scholar, the parents/family, and the teacher. Parents, family members, or guardians, please feel free to email me with any questions (English or Spanish). If there is anything I can do to help your student in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me!

To my fifth graders:

1. I believe in you.

2. You are listened to.

3. You are cared for.

4. You are important.

5. You will succeed.

Best wishes,

Mrs. Delgado
