Hello! My name is Lexie Rickards, and this is my second-year teaching at Manzanita Public Charter School and my 8 th year as a classroom teaching. I have over 14 years of classroom experience and have taught students at various ages of their academic development.
My undergraduate education was focused on art and literature. I have a Master’s degree in Education (Curriculum and Instruction) through the University of West Florida. I have recently obtained my Reading Instruction Endorsement through UWF. I love learning and finding best practices to bring to the classroom. My favorite moments in the classroom are the “ah-ha” moments of learning and when students share a perspective that I’ve never thought of before. We are all on the journey together!
After 12 moves and 28 years in the Air Force, my spouse retired from the Air Force and now we call the Central Coast our home. I have two adult children, and both are pursuing careers in the science field. I’m so proud of their resiliency and their focus on making the world a better place. When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, and running outdoors. If you don’t find me outside, then I’m home curled up with a book.
Welcome to Manzanita!
