Hello and welcome to kindergarten!

My name is Alma Camacho, and I am so excited to be your child's kindergarten teacher! Teaching young children has always been my passion, and I truly feel fortunate to do what I love every day. I am a certified bilingual teacher and earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies and my multiple subject teaching credential from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

After completing the teaching credential program at Cal Poly I was fortunate to be offered a kindergarten position here, and I have happily called Manzanita my home ever since. It has been a joy to watch our school grow over the years while continuing to provide a caring, supportive, and engaging learning environment for our students. Our staff is incredibly dedicated, and it truly feels like a family. I am proud to be part of such a special school community.

Outside of the classroom, I love spending time with my family, cooking, traveling, watching movies, and planning activities with my kids.  My husband, Oscar, and I have been married for 28 years, and we have three wonderful children: Ariana, Alessandra, and Adriel. We have lived on the Central Coast for over 35 years and love being part of this amazing community. Raising our children here has been a wonderful experience, and I feel grateful to teach in the same community that my family calls home.

I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child throughout the school year. Kindergarten is such an exciting time filled with learning, growth, new friendships, and fun! I believe that when families and teachers work together, children thrive. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and nurturing classroom where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to do their very best.
