Hello, my name is Martha Garcia. I have been here at Manzanita since 2009 teaching Kinder, first grade, Spanish and second grade. This is my fourth year in second grade, and I love teaching this group of scholars. I am excited to meet my new families for this upcoming year. Here are a few things about me.
I was born in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico and have lived all my life in Santa Maria. I graduated from Allan Hancock College with my AA. I also graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and received my Bachelors, Teaching Credential and Masters Degree in Reading and Literacy. I began my teaching career in 2003 at another elementary school. However, when I came here to Manzanita I fell in love with the school. 
I have been happily married for 34 years and have three beautiful daughters. Yanelly, Sarai and Miah. I also have a granddaughter, Catalina, who will be coming here to Manzanita. I am excited to start this school year and get to know all my new families.
