MANZANITA
PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL

BECKY RANNEY
Fifth Grade Teacher
Welcome!
I’m Mrs. Ranney, and I’m so excited to be part of the Manzanita Charter School family. This is my 4th year at Manzanita, and I feel truly fortunate to work in such a supportive and inspiring community. I’ve been teaching for 25 years, and every year I’m reminded just how much I love watching students grow, challenge themselves, and discover their unique strengths.
I began my teaching career in 1998 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School in Modesto, where I taught junior high. In 2000, my family and I moved to Lompoc, and I began teaching at LVMS. Over the years, I’ve also taught at La Honda, Miguelito, Vista de las Cruces, La Cañada, and Fillmore. Most of my time has been spent teaching 4th and 5th graders, which is my favorite age group to teach—I love how curious, capable, and full of personality students are at this stage!
Outside the classroom, I’m all about family. My husband, Todd, and I have been married for 29 years, and we have three wonderful grown children: Camryn (26), Cullin (23), and Carson (22). My boys are proud military veterans, and I couldn’t be prouder of the people they’ve become. At home, I also have two dogs, Finnley and Boogie, who bring lots of energy and laughter to our house.
When I’m not teaching, you can usually find me out on the golf course, in my garden, or spending quality time with family and friends. These hobbies help me recharge and bring balance to my life so I can show up as my best self for my students.
Being part of the Manzanita Charter School community has been one of the greatest blessings of my career. I truly believe in the power of building strong relationships with students and families, and I look forward to helping each child grow not only academically but as kind, confident individuals.
