ANGIE TORRES
Transitional Kindergarten Teacher

Hello! My name is Angie Torres and I am so excited to be the Transitional Kindergarten teacher at Manzanita. With over 10 years of experience in early childhood and elementary education, I have taught grades TK through third. I am committed to creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to grow.

I earned my bachelor's degree in liberal studies and my Masters of Education in Early Childhood Education and hold a Multiple Subject Teaching credential and Child Development Permit. My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that young children learn best through meaningful, hands-on experiences that foster curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and confidence. I strive to provide a classroom environment that supports each child's academic, social, emotional, and physical development while encouraging a lifelong love of learning.

In my classroom, I emphasize the development of foundational literacy, mathematics, language, and social-emotional skills through developmentally appropriate, play-based instruction and purposeful exploration. I believe that strong partnerships with families are essential to student success and value open communication and collaboration throughout the school year.

My husband and I have two wonderful children, a son and a daughter who also attend Manzanita. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and creative writing. I am proud to be a member of the Manzanita community and look forward to partnering with students and families as we build a strong foundation for lifelong learning and success.
