MANZANITA
PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL

KATE YETTER
Seventh Grade Teacher- ELA
I began my teaching journey right here at Manzanita between 2012 and 2016, and after nine years of teaching in different places, it feels like coming home.
I grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, and earned my B.A. in Communications from the University of Louisville. Shortly after, I married my husband, Richard, and we moved to Portales, New Mexico, where I completed my teacher education program and earned my Master’s in Education.
As a proud military spouse, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to also teach in Texas, Maryland, and even England. Each place has helped shape the teacher I am today, and I’m grateful for the experiences and students I’ve met along the way.
When I’m not in the classroom, I love staying active—whether it’s at the gym, exploring the outdoors, or spending time with my sweet dog, Oso. I also love cooking, doing puzzles, cross-stitching, and finding new recipes inspired by the places I’ve visited.
I can’t wait to get to know my students and families this year. Let’s make it a great one!
